Description Technical Specs Size Guide   The XP "Vortice" is a hollow, carbon-fiber version of the fastest SUP paddleboard we could come up with in 4 years of races in Hawaii, and is intended to be the foundation of a 'stock' class in the increasing number of races held in the Islands. This ultralight composite racer sports twin concaves running throughout the bottom, which increases both hull speed and stability; up top, the scooped out deck lowers the paddler's center of gravity while boosting the mechanical advantage of a shorter paddle shaft. The bottom rocker was honed in the gale-torn Molokai Channel, the gold standard of every paddle sport race on Earth. If you're into racing and want to 'railroad' open-ocean swells one after another like you scarf M & Ms, then book a test flight on the XP "Vortice."   Features Can support expert paddlers up to 225 lbs. Hollow structure is composed of carbon fiberglass, Kevlar and epoxy resin. Ribbed design, with three longitudinal ultra-light foam spars, provides strength while maintaining a low weight. Vortice XP December 17, 2009 Reviewer: Annie from Lihue, HI United States   I was fortunate enough to get one of these when C4 had a demo sale.  I've done mostly flat and river  and one short ocean jaunt.  Due to its narrow profile the board has given me another set of challenges!  The glide is great; its profile does give a bit more resistance going upwind but it's a terrific workout tool. Finding the sweet spots for different conditions is another aspect of using this board.  I'm looking forward to doing some open-ocean downwinders and, in the meantime, it's really a pleasure to have this board for those flat days.  People who have seen the Vortice up close are impressed with its design and aesthetics.  C4's done their homework on this design and while it's somewhat fragile, its light weight makes it nimble.  It leaks a little bit but that's the nature of a hollow watercraft.  It requires TLC but give the board respect and it'll treat you well!
